between these: German shepherd, black lab, yorkie, jack Russel, or golden retriever? i want a dog that doesn't annoy you with barking, a good loyal guard dog, a short hair or a dog that doesn't shed, i want it to be playful, and not slobbering all over the place ... can you help me...?

With all you want in a dog, no breed fits. You need a stuffed animal not a dog.
All dogs shed and bark. You need to be a little more realistic. Having a dog is a lot of work.

Get a golden retriever! I grew up with golden retrievers (I've had three so far.) They are really sweet, loyal dogs and will love you no matter what. I'm really glad I have a golden because they are so cute and love to play and are always good to have around.

I bought a Labradoodle in March and he doesn't bark much, very quiet but he does shed. I don't think you will find the perfect doggy that doesn't do one or the other. Happy hunting! :D

our yorkie doesn't shed so much that you notice it and he is a better guard dog than our laband he doesn't slobber, he follows me arround and is in love with me. only problem is that he was really hard to potty train.

First of all, every dog sheds and barks. You are better of with a stuffed animal. A small dog sheds too but they are called light shedders. You might want a small dog. A lab would be your best choice out of those.

a lab sheds alot. My daughter has one and it is so big it constantly jumps on the kitchen counters and eats everything in sight, jumps on the end tables, knocking over the lamps, etc. It is a sweet dog but they get pretty big, and trust me, a real handful! Retrievers shed alot too, but they listen better than labs and are pretty friendly. My neighbor has one, I do not. Good Luck!

All of the dogs you've listed shed. Especially the German Shepherd, lab, and golden retriever. All dogs bark, especially little ones like the yorkie and jack russel. The only real guard dog out of the bunch would be the German Shepherd, but then again, they shed, bark, and slobber. Good luck.

Your list is not going to help ..
German shepherd: Loyal, playful, short hair.. but, Shed's like crazy, barks if not trained properly, dominant.. so needs a firm hand from the beginning..
black lab: sweet, loyal, playful, short hair, not terribly vocal, but sheds like crazy, takes a little longer to train then some other dogs, and not a good guard dog generally.
yorkie: can be sweet dogs.. CAN be playful (but I've seen more cases of them being stuck up around people),doesn't slobber, can be a guard dog.. but isn't very intimidating .. so would be better as an alarm.. but they shed a bit.. have long hair that needs grooming fairly often, and tend to be barkers.
jack Russel: playful, energetic, sheds.. (not too bad), not a great guard dog.. but do tend to bark alot..
or golden retriever? Long hair, sheds like crazy, needs grooming fairly often.. they can be playful, but are generally not that great as guard dogs.. not too vocal, but when they bark it is loud., they do tend to slobber..
There is no such thing as a perfect dog.. EVERY individual dog regardless of breed can be loud and annoying at times.. (be it barking or as in basenji's yodeling.. ) The ones that don't shed (at least not noticeably) need grooming ALOT.. (every couple of weeks or they get covered in painful mats).. Those that are loyal guard dogs, tend to be a bit more dominant than a novice pet owner should really deal with.. without taking classes early on with it.. Loyal guard dogs also tend to bark.. and it is very difficult to train a dog to bark at intruders without barking at EVERY single being that comes onto the property.. Out of that list I would say get a Black Lab.. they tend to be fairly mellow, and happy if bred well.. but, every individual animal has a different personality..

A dog that doesn't bark too much and is playful depends more on the individual dog, not the breed. You have to teach your dog not to bark, or get an adult that has already been taught to not bark at everything which will make it easier to reinforce the rules.
All dogs shed. Some much more than others. German shepherds, labs, and goldens usually shed a LOT.
Labs and goldens slobber the most out of the list of breeds.
JRTs and yorkies do shed, but they don't have the undercoat like the other three breeds so they shed much less. Yorkies shed less than JRTs. Yorkies also need to be groomed often, especially if you keep their hair on the longer side.
They are both good watch dogs. They will alert you, but when it comes to guarding, they are just really small.
You can also look up other breeds at www.akc.org

Shepherds dont shed as much as ppl suspect they do!
They are great dogs and lose their coat before summer usually. They are not drolling type dogs, are excellent guard dogs and very playful, they are easy to train, especially females- and are loyal.....

I'd say a golden retriever. Thye are very loyal, great with humans. They listen on commands. And they are just great to have around. Just get it when it's a baby so you don't have any trouble training it.

jack russel or go to a shelter.

Jack Russell Terrier ... Terriers bark a lot.
Golden Retriever ... long coated, to friendly to be a guard dog.
Labrador Retriever ... again too friendly to be any good at guard work.
Yorkshire Terrier ... again Terriers are yappers.
German Shepherd ... barks but not yappy. Loyal, and a very good guard dog ... if properly trained.
Short Haired, most of the time. Need to be groomed daily not to shed however.
Need to have human companionship ... if they don't they will become yappy, because of this however they are great house dogs although large breed. Playful, Intelligent, I have never met a German Shepherd who slobbers.
Hope this helped. I am not saying a GSD is the best dog for you ... I'm only answering those questions in which you asked.

a golden retriever is cool

Shepards and retrievers shed. Labs often bark (depends of how well you train them). Jack Russells are smart and loving but EXTREMELY active dogs. Yorkies aren't known for their smarts (some would say they're positively stupid). If I had to choose between your 5 choices, I would go with the golden retriever. They are gentle, affectionate, playful, and very loyal dogs.
