Please can anyone tell me how long it takes for a dogs hair to grow back after it has been shaved fo

Our dog has just had a skin graft done on her lower leg after a car accident, can anyone tell me how long it will take for her hair to grow back both on her higher back leg and on the lower leg where the graft took place, Thank you so much in advance for your answers. Regards BB

Please can anyone tell me how long it takes for a dogs hair to grow back after it has been shaved for an op?

Hi.normal shaved hair will start to grow back almost straight away and by about two months ,you will hardly be able to tell it had been shaved unless it is a very long coated dog ,but as for the graft am not too sure but I would expect it to take some time longer to grow back,I hope this is of some help regards linda.

Please can anyone tell me how long it takes for a dogs hair to grow back after it has been shaved for an op?

About the same time as yours if you had the same done.

Please can anyone tell me how long it takes for a dogs hair to grow back after it has been shaved for an op?

it grows back rather quickly you will start seeing a little hair within 1 or 2 weeks

Please can anyone tell me how long it takes for a dogs hair to grow back after it has been shaved for an op?

The hair may never grow back, grafting takes the hair particles along with the skin that is taken. If by some chance it should be about a year or so give or take a few months. GOOD LUCK you must love your dog very much!

Please can anyone tell me how long it takes for a dogs hair to grow back after it has been shaved for an op?

We shaved a spot on my dog when he came to me fromt he shelter with ringworm. It was at least 4 months before the hair FULLY grew back and then another couple months for the colors to blend together. The shaved spot was right in the middle of his back though, not his leg.

Please can anyone tell me how long it takes for a dogs hair to grow back after it has been shaved for an op?

within a week u will feel some fuzz and then by second week hair will look more grown in. by third week hair will start blending in. my dogs have had surgeries and they all had similar hair growths

Please can anyone tell me how long it takes for a dogs hair to grow back after it has been shaved for an op?

couple months, depending on the surgery site

Please can anyone tell me how long it takes for a dogs hair to grow back after it has been shaved for an op?

my dog had an operation at the end of november also on his leg, and now you can barely even tell where the operation was, and even then i can only tell because i know what his leg looked like beforehand. my dog is a short haired dog though, so will probably take a bit longer depending on what kind of dog it is

Looking for an artist with the intials A.I W.? paints horse and dog scenes, early 20th century?

Brown lean horse in columed stall with one little white terrier type dog and on dark brown long hair dashhound type dog.

Looking for an artist with the intials A.I W.? paints horse and dog scenes, early 20th century?

I had an idea, but the middle initial is throwing me off. You could try Andrew Wyeth, but his middle initial is N. Is there any way the "I" is wrong? Wyeth was a 20th century artist who painted a lot of rural scenes, which included horses and dogs, though none (that I know of) with the two together.

Should I cut the hair off the bottom of my dogs feet?

I am going to give my dog a bath today, cut his nails, etc. He has long hair %26amp; the hair on the bottom of his feet between his pads is long. I live in the north east %26amp; we have snow %26amp; cold weather. The hair on his feet gets frozen when he goes out %26amp; he slips when he comes in. I don't know whether the hair protects his feet or hinders them?

Should I cut the hair off the bottom of my dogs feet?

Dogs need the hair on the bottom of their feet for when they go outside. It might seem unnecessary top you, but your dog really enjoys it!

Should I cut the hair off the bottom of my dogs feet?

i would definitly tske him to a groomer and get them to do it, or ask the vet to see what he would suggest.

Should I cut the hair off the bottom of my dogs feet?

he's fine leave his hair alone

Should I cut the hair off the bottom of my dogs feet?

Yes, cut it flush with the pads if you can. Practice handling his feet before you bring out the (scary) scissors. Talk to him, and give him a treat afterwards (or after each foot).

Should I cut the hair off the bottom of my dogs feet?

Yes, I would cut that hair on the bottom of feet. The hair in between the pads protects the feet. Just cut the hair that grow past the pads and this will ind the slipping and snow that get stuck to feet. This is what we do at the grooming shop and I also do this to my 2 dogs as well. Hope this helped.

Should I cut the hair off the bottom of my dogs feet?

Yes,if your dog goes out in the snow, your are supposed to cut the hair that sticks out between his toes, just for that reason, because it freezes.

Should I cut the hair off the bottom of my dogs feet?

no cut it off. the hair will just trap things in it and bother his pads. my cavalier king charles spaniel gets his shaved off. its a lot easier. but you just got to make sure you have the right blade cause that would be really bad if you cut his pad on accident. but the blade we use cant hurt his pads. it also helps them fro slipping all over. he could get ice, dirt, little rocks and stuff stuck in there. good luck!

Should I cut the hair off the bottom of my dogs feet?

It won't hurt him to cut off the excess hair on the bottom of the feet. In fact trimming hair on feet is good because of the reason you stated (ice stuck on it) they can also get burrs in there too. Don't cut all the hair off. Just enough to where it's even with the pads. His feet will fare better in the long run and he'll probably be more comfortable without getting so much ice stuck to the long hairs.

Should I cut the hair off the bottom of my dogs feet?

You can and should trim the hair around the pads, just be sure to use blunt end scissors, to avoid any accidental nip of the pad or the thin skin between the toes. This should be a regular part of the grooming of the feet. It also cuts doen on dirt being tracked into the house.

Should I cut the hair off the bottom of my dogs feet?

I also have a breed that has long hair growing between the toes and on the bottoms of the feet. It is necessary for you to trim this hair. It isn't good for him to be slipping and sliding around and having all that wet matted hair on his feet is not healthy for him. It can be the cause of foot fungus and irritation.

It is best to use blunt nosed, curved blade scissors for trimming the hair on the feet. You can take the hair from between the toes and pull it up to the top of the toes and trim it off even with the top of the foot. The hair on the bottom should be trimmed even with the bottom of the foot. Many people use the mustache trimmers to do the feet on their dogs. This makes the job a lot easier though it will take a bit of time to get your dog used to the buzzing of the trimmer. It will also lessen the chance of your nicking the pad when you are trimming the hair.

Should I cut the hair off the bottom of my dogs feet?

You can but id advice you pay a Groomer or a vet to do it

Should I cut the hair off the bottom of my dogs feet?

I also live in the snow/cold Northeast and I cut the hair on the bottom of my 3 dogs paws between groomer visits. Anything, twig, stone, etc, can get caught in the hair and aggravate/irritate the paw pads. Also, when I bundle them up and take them for a walk, it's easier to wash their paws when we get back home, which is necessary to clean out any rock salt, antifreeze, or whatever else they may have stepped in. Once my little one began hopping on 3 legs during one of our walks this past summer. I carried her back home and lo' and behold I found a tiny sliver of wood stuck between her paws. The kind of wood people use for landscaping. Keep the hair cut to the pad level.

Should I cut the hair off the bottom of my dogs feet?

you can trim the hair between the pads but be very careful not to cut the pad. my dogs (Cavaliers) also have long hair between the pads and they do tend to slip on floors sometimes. i live in snow country and snow does get stuck in the hair between pads. i use clippers but i have used scissors.

the hair does not protect the pads. i had one dog that was limping last summer and in checking the feet i found a glob of pine pitch in the hair with a pebble stuck in it. the poor dog still limped for a couple days after i removed it.

Should I cut the hair off the bottom of my dogs feet?

you shoudn't cut it..its not wise...if you do want to get it cut, get it done professionally

Should I cut the hair off the bottom of my dogs feet?

The pads protect his feet. The hair is just bothering him. We have the same problem with 3 out of our 5 dogs. We live in western Ma, so cut his hair off his feet.

Should I cut the hair off the bottom of my dogs feet?

If your dog has hair that is growing from between his pads, then I would advise carefully removing it. (iwth scissors)- the hair covers the pads and can reduce traction.

Who knew that beefaroni stained? my dog got into it now her hair is stained. How do i get it out?

Try Dawn diswashing liquid. It will get the greasy orange color out of her. Doesn't have to be any of the special kinds just regular all purpose Dawn.

Who knew that beefaroni stained? my dog got into it now her hair is stained. How do i get it out?

try a little peroxide. If that doesn't work try rubbing beefaroni all over her to even it out and she can be a new color. How exciting!!

Who knew that beefaroni stained? my dog got into it now her hair is stained. How do i get it out?

Old fashioned DIAL bar soap - it gets everything out.

Who knew that beefaroni stained? my dog got into it now her hair is stained. How do i get it out?

I would call a groomer and ask what they would use to get the stain out. Don't try anything too harsh as it could burn the dogs skin. You might want to just shampoo every couple of days until it fades. The dog grooming itself will probably lighten it up also.

My dog doesn't stain himself, but he has stained the carpet and a blanket with red-colored treats! Now I only give him more natural treats that don't have any dyes in them.

Who knew that beefaroni stained? my dog got into it now her hair is stained. How do i get it out?

What is your dog's original color? If it's white or close to it try using a blueing shampoo. It will help take out the orange/yellow color.

Who knew that beefaroni stained? my dog got into it now her hair is stained. How do i get it out?

It's a tomato stain. Try a vinegar rinse! It shouldn't hurt the dog, and if you rinse well afterwards, the smell of the vinegar will fade quickly. It also works well on clothes as a fabric softener that is easier on the skin than Downy or Bounce.

The peroxide that was already mentioned is also a safe, probably effective method.

Who knew that beefaroni stained? my dog got into it now her hair is stained. How do i get it out?

Work a little baking soda with regular pet shampoo on the stained area

and rinse well.

Throw the those crappy treats in the trash!

Part 2 how to stop my dog from shedding?

she sheds all seasons since ive had her she is now three i got her from the pound at 11mos she gets over excited when people are around and when the water turns on she is scared when the pipes shake she is scared if you play to ruff she gets scared she is scared of every noise im tired of hair everywhere my dog owns the house help

Part 2 how to stop my dog from shedding?

Sounds like you don't really want a dog. Dogs require care and training and exercise and grooming. If you're not up for that, why don't you find her a good home and get your life back. You and the dog will both be better off.

Part 2 how to stop my dog from shedding?

one word:

Nair

Part 2 how to stop my dog from shedding?

Shave him bald and keep him that way

Part 2 how to stop my dog from shedding?

brush him/her everyday to remove loose hair. they really shed in the summer to be cooler. There are also certain food and virtamins that are good for their coat. ask your vet.Do not shave the hair off, it protects the skin.

Part 2 how to stop my dog from shedding?

Talk to your vet to see if she is shedding excessively for her breed. If so he may be able to give her some meds to slow it down.

As far as her timidity goes, just give her lots of love and tell her how good she is using your "pleased-with-her" voice. She will either gain confidence and lose the timidity with your encouragement as she gets older, or not.

Part 2 how to stop my dog from shedding?

i think she might hve been an abused dog, the way u talk about her being scared all the time. she need 2 be brushed every day or so 2 keep hair down to the miniman. that way u 2 could bond more[ she need 2 trust ppl again, %26amp; dont yell or hit her] the shedding might b caused b her nervesous, 2 if the brushing doesnt work , mayb call a vet. good luck w/ her %26amp; plez b tolerent w/ her, she already caMe frm a bad envioment, help her make this a good 1

Part 2 how to stop my dog from shedding?

i found that my dog was shedding too much so i ask a vet and we did a skin scraping and found a rash we did not see at first. now she is on an antibiotic and hopefully will stop the rash and shedding. also i heard high quality food helps a lot. we found lamb and rice by NUTRO is amazing. it has linolaic acid in it that promotes shiny hair and healthy skin. good luck. :)

Part 2 how to stop my dog from shedding?

brush her everyday at least 1-3 times,

Part 2 how to stop my dog from shedding?

what kind of food dog you feed??

Purina-BAD

Puppy chow- BAD

Eukanuba-BAD

OLD Roy- BAD

Beneful - BAD

AND A LOT MORE

Nutro-good

Artemis - good

evolve- Good

AND A LOT MORE!!

and get her professionally groomed

A GOOD DIET WILL DRASTICALLY REDUCE SHEDDING!!!!

Part 2 how to stop my dog from shedding?

it sounds like you have got your hands full. i agree with the answer of going to the vet and talking with him/her. they are some of the most knowledgeable people. you may also want to talk to a groomer about how to keep the dogs hair healthy and its skin also. as far as the timidness goes, you will need to work slowing and patiently with her to works through that. i would not suggest harsh discipline of any sort but loving hands and good nature. try finding a socialization or obedience class you can get involved in. this will let her know that she can trust you and the situations you put her in. hope this information helps! i attached a website that has helped me before. maybe you can fing more info here

Part 2 how to stop my dog from shedding?

Some dogs just shed. Welcome to the wonderful world of dog shedding!

There is no way to completely stop your Pet from shedding, but you can do things to reduce the amount of hair.

Dogs can shed more when they get excited, nervous, or hot. Sometimes they shed more if they are on a poor diet.

Check your food and make sure you have your baby on a high quality food diet.

Brushing daily will help wonders with the hair. Some people think of clipping Pets to reduce shedding but it doesn't reduce shedding.

If you clipped the Pet, they still shed, they just shed short little shaved hairs.

Hope this helps!

Kova

Part 2 how to stop my dog from shedding?

Brush them regularly, put them on a good diet. Poor nutrition can lead to excess shedding.

Part 2 how to stop my dog from shedding?

You can't stop a dog from shedding it's a natural thing. If you didn't want a dog that shed you shouldn't have gotten a breed that sheds. To me it sounds as if you really don't want this dog...you should have thought about that in the beginning...the only help that I can give you is to suggest the animal shelter for the poor dog and that you maybe buy a fish.

African American women hair loss......?

i have been sheading hair like a dog. Its EVERYWHERE. I am only 22yrs old! What can I do?

African American women hair loss......?

If you perm your hair, stop. Also, if you dont brush your hair every day, it could just be the dead hair that wasn't removed from pervious days. You lose 100 strands of hair every day. What I usually do is deep condition my hair once every week and keep it moisturized. Don't use those hardining gels (Pro-Style for example) because they dry the hell out your hair. Last thing, I can't remember the name of it, but if you go to the African-American hair section in stores, the have these jars of anti-breakage creme (There's a black chick with long reddish hair on the label) that you can use. It is light, smells good, it's inexpensive, and works very well.

African American women hair loss......?

I'm wayyy younger than that and I don't lose as much as you seem to but I do lose hair. I asked my stylist and she says that usually when black women lose hair its because of chemical damage.

If you have ever colored your hair, gotten a perm, or even apply lots of heat to your hair,it could result in breakage.

Simple things like stopping the use of hair color can save your hair. Make sure your perms are done properly and on time. Don't wait to long and not to soon because that causes TONS of breakage. If heat is your problem, switch to a ceramic one. They are easier on your hair and make breakage minimal .

An easier way is to simply keep your hair moist. Apply olive oil hair lotions and grease to your hair and massage it into your scalp. Keep the front braided as often as possible and make sure the back (where breakage is usually worst) is always brushed down and hair combed out.

Hope I helped.

African American women hair loss......?

Relaxing? Stop. Those chemicals are probably killing already dead hair cells. Try wearing protective hair styles (not too tight braids, wigs, no glue weaves, etc) for a few months. Also it may be time to switch hair products. Don't use products with alcohol in them and make sure you deep condition at least once a month.

Are you drinking plenty of water? Drink more.

The only thing I use on my hair is Shea Butter, using more than three products at a time can be more damaging than helpful.

Do you find that people who equate dogs to humans usually TREAT HUMANS no better than a dog?

It has been my observation. They also usually have pretty poor hygiene and smelly homes full of animal hair.

Is a dog worth jail time?

Do you find that people who equate dogs to humans usually TREAT HUMANS no better than a dog?

What are you talking about. Usually people that respect animals respect all life.

You aren't making sense.

Do you find that people who equate dogs to humans usually TREAT HUMANS no better than a dog?

Absolutely not. I'm an animal lover and probably smell better than most people. I have 5 animals (3 chinchillas, 1 rabbit, and a dog). It's a lot of work, but I keep cages and the yard VERY clean. I know people who don't like animals who have dirty homes and look homeless. Many pet owners are caring enough to take in animals, which is a lot of responsibility and dedication.

You must consider that many people who have tons of animals have mental disorders. They're not completely there, so you cannot compare them to a sane human being.

Do you find that people who equate dogs to humans usually TREAT HUMANS no better than a dog?

Sometimes people do treat animals with more care and concern than humans. Think of people who are all over animal rights, but then support abortion. Priorities anyone?

Do you find that people who equate dogs to humans usually TREAT HUMANS no better than a dog?

huh?

Not sure I understand what you're asking.

Dogs are dogs, humans are humans... I've seen people who are very into dogs who are neatniks and others who are slobs. I think, as with most anything, there are all sorts.

And what the heck does it have to do with jail time?

Do you find that people who equate dogs to humans usually TREAT HUMANS no better than a dog?

Well you aren't a dog person are you? It's fine..if you don't like dogs or animals you shouldn't have them.

Usually have smelly homes with animal hair all over? You either don't get out much or don't know many people with animals......

Do you find that people who equate dogs to humans usually TREAT HUMANS no better than a dog?

Just the opposite...people who are able to treat dogs humanely are often the most compassionate toward fellow human beings as well. You should try it sometime.

Do you find that people who equate dogs to humans usually TREAT HUMANS no better than a dog?

No. I do not find that to be true. In fact, I find that people that treat their pets poorly do not respect other people either.

And I don't understand the jail comment at all.

Do you find that people who equate dogs to humans usually TREAT HUMANS no better than a dog?

People who respect animals the right way know how to treat People the right way.

People who Mistreat animals also Mistreat Humans.

Do you find that people who equate dogs to humans usually TREAT HUMANS no better than a dog?

I have never understood people who treat or consider an animal equal to a child or other human.

Do you find that people who equate dogs to humans usually TREAT HUMANS no better than a dog?

I can honestly say that I prefer dogs over most people, and that's because some people aren't worth a damn. My dog is loyal, loving, and a good companion. He's never lied to me or stabbed me in the back. Is a dog worth jail time? Um....are dogs illegal?

I am fit, attractive, bathe daily, and my house is clean. Ever heard of a vacuum?

Do you find that people who equate dogs to humans usually TREAT HUMANS no better than a dog?

I would like for some people to treat me as good as they treat their dogs. Poor Hygiene and smelly homes??? I don't know where you've been! If you don't like people that have animals stay away from them. I'm sure they would appreciate it.

Is a dog worth jail time? As in Michael VIck? Yep. You don't treat helpless, innocent animals the way that piece of crap did.

I wish him more than jail time. I wish him hell on earth for the rest of his sorry life and when he dies I wish his a horrible death. THen he will meet his maker to decide what to do with

horrible excuse for a human being.

Do you find that people who equate dogs to humans usually TREAT HUMANS no better than a dog?

Think through your question carefully before you submit it for answers. If your question is badly written like in this case then you will get all sorts of answers from people trying their best to understand what you are asking about .

Most people treat their dogs well. They also treat others and themselves well.

Some people neglect their dogs. They are likely to neglect others, their homes and even themselves.

I don't think dogs feel like they are in jail. They are just happy to be living with people. Otherwise they would be in the wild hunting for their food.

Just happen that I have been thinking about the lifes of dogs and thanks for the chance to answer your "question".

Do you find that people who equate dogs to humans usually TREAT HUMANS no better than a dog?

I treat my animals just like my children and all people, with love and respect. Yes, I do have to vacuum just about everyday and I also bathe EVERYDAY and my home smells very nice and clean. I would not change a thing. As far as doing jail time for a dog...not sure what you mean by that question. I will say this though, there is absolutely nothing that I would not do for my pets.

Do you find that people who equate dogs to humans usually TREAT HUMANS no better than a dog?

There are all kinds of people in this world. So, of course there will be some people who treat dogs better than they treat humans...Paris Hilton for example. And to your question, "Is a dog worth jail time?" makes me think you're referring to poor Michael Vick or some other animal related law you don't agree with. The answer is simply yes. Dog fighting and neglect is illegal for a reason. Why? Because most of feel it isn't right to unnecessarily subject animals to forced fighting or failures to provide adequate food, shelter, water and care. If you don't want the responsibility, don't have a pet!

Wild dogs fight among themselves to create their hierarchy which is for the good of the pack. That's where their fighting ends. Other than that, domestic dogs fight because those humans don't provide the dog with what they need. If you were locked in the house or a kennel all day, you'd eventually get frustrated and lash out too. Take your poor excuse for an argument someplace else.

Do you find that people who equate dogs to humans usually TREAT HUMANS no better than a dog?

Really? Who have you been observing, exactly? People who collect dogs like knickknacks? Not every animal lover has a house filled with animals and not every animal lover is a slob. Honestly, you need to reevaluate these observations of yours. Poor hygiene and messiness are usually the results of being lazy and/or not being raised in a clean home, not loving animals.

I don't treat my dogs like people nor do I think of them as people -- a dog is a dog. And like the living, breathing entity it is, I'll treat it with respect and kindness.

Is a dog worth jail time?

Absolutely not. Abusing and torturing any animal is worth a complete and total mental evaluation and a few months at a mental institution... but not jail time. Jail isn't going to teach people with a violent personality why what they did was wrong. Why do I think animal abuse deserves time in a mental institution? Simply, because mentally healthy people would never enjoy torturing ANYTHING -- be it humans or non-human animals -- with their bare hands. And I'm not even going to go into the fact that the some of the worst serial killers started out with torturing animals.

Do you find that people who equate dogs to humans usually TREAT HUMANS no better than a dog?

I've never heard of anyone going to jail for having dog hair in their home. The answer to your question: Most people treat others as they deserve to be treated. I've never seen a dog that didn't DESERVE to be treated kindly...I've met lots of people who are treated MUCH better than they deserve. Respect is earned...show me a dog that is prejudiced, vain, lies, cheats, or gossips...I don't believe there is one...but there are BILLIONS of humans who can take lessons from dogs.
